This week at WPPI I got to spend a few minutes with Jim Collins, the CEO of Pictage and talk about some of the new pricing and features that are coming to the Pictage platform. With new pricing plans from entry level to Pro and a whole new interface coming soon, Pictage is really moving forward in helping photographers to build their print business.

Podcast #54 – Kerry and David Announce Contest Winners

With several hundred entries we sure were glad that we had tons of things to give away. Just to explain briefly how the names where chosen. The entries were numbered in reverse order of how they came in, then for each prize we used the random number generator at http://random.orgÂ and asked if you return a number between 1 and 302 (number of valid entries). Then we matched the number with the info of the winner and viola!

Yes, we know the sound isn’t awesome but we had some hardware problems and couldn’t find a replacement mic at Best Buy, Fry’s, Sony Store, or any of the electronics stores that litter the strip so we had to make due with what we had, hopefully you can still get the goods on what was going on there.

Pictage announces new Pictage Lite service

While many big-name photographers have used Pictage for their print fullfillment service, the cost was outside of the realm of photographers that are just getting started or don’t do very many jobs per year. With a growing number of photographers looking to get started with Pictage but needing to start smaller, Pictage has announced Pictage Lite.

Pictage Lite provides the same interface and tools as the full version of Pictage, including an all-new image upload tool, but is limited on features that busier professionals need to help streamline their businesses.

Jason gives some great tips for wedding photographers for getting to know all of the people personally that will generate the most sales for you.
