All of us here at The Dojo are HUGE fans of products from Think Tank Photo. David and I both wear Modulus Speed Belts with different accessories. My old eBay-special backpack was really beginning to fall apart and has become quite heavy with gear. When you use a backpack and get to a point that you don’t trust the straps to stay on, it’s well past time for a new bag.

We have talked white balance in the past and have reviewed different products that help you get a good white balance setting. A new product has hit the streets that does the same thing, and since the Dojo is all about helping you to improve your images and doing so at a decent price, we needed to take a look at the new Colorright disc. So let’s take a quick look at why we need white balance and if the Colorright disc is worth the cost.
In this week’s podcast David and I finish the conversation from last week about wedding photography. This week we go into more of the business side of things such as contracts and talk a little about post production.

For almost everything in photography there is usually a simple way to figure out what it is you are trying to accomplish, whether it is figuring out how to light something, what shutter speed to use to stop motion or to create a sense of movement. The hardest thing to do is to figure out how much depth of field will be in your images.

This week we sat down with our friend David from Esquire Photography to discuss different aspects of wedding photography. What we thought was going to be a quick discussion turned into almost 90 minutes of everything from technique, to contracts, to workflow, and much more.
Adobe’s Rick Miller, my personal Lightroom Guru, is doing an online seminar this Friday at 1pm PST. These are normally invitation-only events but they have opened it up to all Camera Dojo readers as well. If you want to see some really cool new features in Lightroom 2.0 then you should find a way to attend it.
In this video tutorial we take a look at doing white balance correction during post production with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. This lesson applies to both Lightroom 1.x and Lightroom 2.0 Public Beta.

It’s the height of the wedding season now and people that are shooting their first weddings or considering shooting a wedding should know a few tips to make sure the day goes as smooth as possible. Since weddings are our primary income here we figured we would pass along a number of our favorite tips and tricks.
Our good friends over at DIYPhotography.net have launched a new photo contest called At My Home. Not only do we think this is a great idea for a photo contest but yours truly here is one of the judges! From the DIYPhotography site: “
Adobe has rolled out some cool new features into the online Photoshop Express product. Here are a few of the key items:
Flickr integration
Photoshop Express is now officially hooked up with Flickr. Now you can pull photos from Flickr into Photoshop Express, amp them up, then upload them back into Flickr to show them off to your vast and adoring fan base.
CameraPorn.net is a great photography blog in it’s own right and they just put up a list of 60 photography sites that you should most certainly have bookmarked. Included at #8 is (our former name) L7Foto.com. Thanks guys for giving us a shout-out and keep up the great work on your own site.
L7Foto.com has been growing by leaps and bounds but the problem is that when you tell someone L7Foto.com they remember L7Photo.com which belongs to someone else. To make it easier to find and tell people the URL we have changed the name to CameraDojo.com. This new name is reflective of our style of providing news, information, tutorials, and tips in a central location. We have lots of new things planned for CameraDojo.com so stay tuned and thanks for coming!
Today we are going to take a look at the new Adobe Photoshop Express. Express is a free web-based photo editor from Adobe that allows you to upload images and do basic photo correction. While it doesn’t have the full features of Photoshop or even Photoshop Elements, it may well be the perfect tool for many home users who want to make basic corrections, share images in a gallery, and email family and friends their images.
