Its quite obvious now that Canon is getting ready to unleash a new pro-level DSLR. Muliple Canon sites are running little teaser ads hinting at the new product. While there is no limit to the rumours and speculation at what the new camera is going to be called, most people believe it is going to be the replacement for the aging EOS 5D.
This week I do some catching up in the news and let you know whats been going on with Camera Dojo. We have some really exciting things coming up with some interviews and tons of articles this month. In this episode I cover the latest news including:
Las Vegas, NV — September 4, 2008 (Photoshop World, Booth #321) — Nik Software today announced the latest version of its popular Sharpener Pro photographic plug-in for use with Adobe® Photoshop® and Apple® Aperture™. We knew when we sat down to write this review that many of your would be sitting there thinking that the guys at the Dojo had totally lost it if all they can come up with for a product review is a simple camera strap. Not that the FlashPac didn’t do it’s job, its just that it was pretty slow and didn’t have a display that could be used to view the images. Without hesitation I turned back to Wolverine to see what they had available and I found the new ESP Digital Photo Album and Multimedia Player.
The Photowalk was a lot of fun and I had a hell of a time trying to pick a winner from the hundreds of images I had to go through. I eventually landed on this image from Maurice Naragon as the local winner for our group.

For this simple example we will look at a ceiling fan taken at different shutter speeds so you can see how adjusting the shutter speed through an entire typical range can help you achieve the exact look you are aiming for.
Covering a huge range from 18mm to 200mm the new EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS makes for a great all-purpose lens. Compact, lightweight and a wide magnification range – this standard zoom lens features a wide focal length range from normal to telephoto equivalent to 29-320mm in the 35mm format.
As expected, the replacement for the EOS 40D has been announced just prior to Photokina. The new EOS 50D is the top end of the “prosumer” market and has a number on improvements over the 40D which is just about a year old. Let’s get right into it and see what this new camera is all about.
