Camera Dojo takes a lot of work every month by several very devoted people. It takes time, energy, resources, money, and lots of Monster Energy drinks to get out articles on a regular basis.

If you are a manufacturer or distributor and would like to help make Camera Dojo even better then you can advertise with us for a minimal fee. The base price for advertising is $300 per month for site wide advertising in the right hand sidebar sponsor section and $450 a month for the banner ad at the top of the page. Discounts are available for long term commitments.

If you would like to get your product reviewed, we do not charge to do product reviews. Just send us the product and we will do a fair and unbiased review. We will allow you to view the review before it is posted to ensure that the technical specifications are correct or if we need some information clarified. However, if your product simply sucks, don’t expect a favorable review.

We are photography enthusiasts and totally love cool gadgets and the ones we like we use all the time and show them off to large numbers of people.

Hi guys, I am an expat working for a defense contractor and living in Paris, France. I have become addicted to your podcasts and look forward to receiving them through iTunes. Although I love my Nikon gear, I suffer through your Canon bias :-), but I actually prefer your podcasts to those I've found for Nikon users. I'll rate you on iTunes. You're 5 stars in my book. Question: where can I find your special offer on Lensbaby gear? Again, nice work.

Hi where can I get the new Tilt shift 17 mm
  • Hi guys,

Thanks for the last podcast, another very interesting interview. For me the only thing lightroom is missing by now is not be able to use video in slideshow, not have other forms of saving slideshows other than pdf or jpeg and I really miss a book desing menu for designing and printing books and albums. With that I would do almost 90% of my workflow in lightroom as I also do my cients webgalleries with lightroom. The other 10% would be some photoshop major editing.

I also would like to hear more about business matters, maybe a senior manager that might have new ideas about the future of the photography market.

If you can give me your opinion I would apretiate it very much, or maybe discuss it in a podcast:
    - I've changed my website into a web/blog but now I have doubt: In this one I only talk about wedding photography and is my comercial website as a wedding photographer. But I would like to show my personal work (mainly streetphotography). You think I should have just one website or separate things and have 2 websites, one for comercial purposes and other for personal stuff.

By the way where can I send you something by post for you to do a review?

    Thanks and keep up!!! :)

    Hi guys,

First I would like to say that it is great what you all are doing for the photography community and spreading all the tips and tricks you've learned throughout the years. It's definitely appreciated and I've been a subscriber and dedicated listener to the Camera Dojo podcast for quite a while. Keep up the great work!!!

I just listened to your discussion on contracts again (in you talk about wedding photography), and I wanted to know if you had a template or sample contract that you guys use? In the podcast, you said that the one you use has been working for you, and I just wanted to have an idea of where to start and what other people were doing.

    Thanks a ton!!

Short version: Content: 5 stars. Audio: 2 stars. I haven't put a review on ITunes because I'd really like to give you 5 stars when I do, but can't just yet...

    Details:
I love the content. Camera Dojo has become one of 2 "must listen" photography podcasts for me -- the other is The Candid Frame.

You were worried initially about length; seems fine to me as each one is packed with ideas -- there's not much you could really cut. Some podcasters just arbitrarily chop long episodes into 30 minute or so chunks; that drives me nuts. I have a pause button & know how to use it, thank you!

I haven't worked my way through your entire archive yet, so if you've already fixed my audio issue, please feel free to ignore.

I'm a 50+ engineer, a little hard of hearing (from too many power tools decades ago), and *don't* listen in my office. I listen while I'm driving, or walking in an urban area -- in short, in noisy environments. If the volume's too low, I can't understand what's said; yet due to my hearing loss, I'm fanatic about not turning the volume up too high. Unfortunately, that means I have to constantly ride the volume on your podcast -- especially when you're doing a phone interview. On those shows, your volume is just all over the place. I understand the difficulty in getting really clean audio on a phone interview, & have no problem accepting the reduced sound quality -- that's often not under your control. But you have complete control over the volume. You need something like a noise gate & compressor -- perhaps even something as simple as Levelator (which is free, and about as simple to use as you could possibly ask). It would *dramatically* improve the "listenability" of your podcasts. I don't know what you're doing now for this, but whatever it is just isn't working.
  • We think the audio quality has improved significantly since the early episodes. Please let us know what you think of some of the newer shows.

I love your presets. I bought the new ones yesterday, I have a PayPal receipt but no confirming email from you letting me know what to do now. How do I get the new presets?

    Thanks -- Bob

  • Hei!!! ,Tudo bom "What's Up"!!! First of all, congratulation for the amazing podcast, both are doing a great job, I really appreciate the time and knowledge that is been used on the podcast.I had learn a lot.
I know that you always look for something different to put at the show. I just heard about a flash diffuser ( Presslite VerteX™ Flash Diffuser ) look like a very nice accessory.
Thanks for everything, if you came to Miami give me a call.

  • We already did a review of the VerteX, I use it on almost every photo shoot.
  • Dear Kerry and David,

I was listening to your Wedding show podcast from January, and heard you both mention doing sports photography and other types of photography on some shows, and haven't seen anything like that from you guys. I think it would be really cool to hear about shooting sports or nature photography!

Kerry - Did you say you use a 64bit windows operating system?
  • No, I use Windows XP 32 on my desktop machine and Vista 32 on my laptop.

Hey, my name is Frank, im in arizona, I just discovered you pod casts about a week ago. i'm listening to them in order, because I dont want to miss anything. this has its drawback, in that I'm possibly missing out on deals or opportunities to enter contests. but what can I say thats how I roll. I'm currently up to episode 45, another couple days and I should be caught up, but then I'll have to wait a week between new ones, and that blows....

anyway two things, i tried to register on the forum, i got no password, and ive tried to get a new password, but have yet to get that to work out.

and I was wondering if I could get some feed back from you two on some of my stuff. im just not sure if I'm feeling like it has the quality to start charging money for. I shot second shooter at 3 weddings, a recieption only, and a graduation last year. And honestly I really enjoyed it. I think im ready to try to jump into lightroom and see if I can start making images at that next level.

    my modelmayhem is www.modelmayhem.com/streetwise
theres only a few pictures up none wedding, but Im more concerned with the quality of the image than if its in your field or not. and you two have amazing images. so I trust your opinions.

sorry for the length, but if you guys can have a 2 hour podcast I can write a novel.

    thanks
    Frank Wise

ps. you ever need a second in az I'm down.
  • Check your spam folder, it should be sending the emails. If you need help contact me directly.
