It IS a good camera, its just you get more camera for less with the T4i. If that isn't a showstopper you will likely be happy with it. I think you get more for your money with the Sony NEX lineup though.

Kelly, I have been drawn to this camera because of its size, especially with the 22 mm lens. It also has a great build. That combo is currently selling for $ 721. What would you recommend instead ?

So do you really get the clarity looking at a small monitor that you do actually looking through the lens (obviously with a prism and mirror?) I can't imagine picking up a camera with my 70-200 f2.8 lens but having a small viewfinder monitor giving me the same effect that I get when actually looking through the lens. I realize the monitor is in camera, and should give you the same image, but is it the same quality?

Look at the Sony A99. This is a DSLR design but is a mirrorless camera. The viewfinder is actually a small monitor. You are still looking through the lens, but with advanced features.

I find it interesting that you say that most cameras will be mirror less in the future. Will Crockett on www.DiscoverMirrorless.com makes the same claim. Well I could definitely see it for consumer cameras, I have a hard time believing that any professional who puts a $2000 lens on his camera is not going to want to "see" through the lens. I don't want to look at my image on a computer screen, no matter how high the resolution.
