Smugmug Releases Camera Awesome for iPad

Smugmug has taken the Camera Awesome app for iPhone and come up with a completely new and unique experience for iPad users. Camera Awesome for iPad supports the newly-released iOS 6 and takes full advantage of the device’s high-resolution display and features by offering a bigger and clearer user interface with large previews, better framing and bigger, easier editing.

With nearly 300 different effects, presets, filters and frames to choose from, users can make memories come alive, then share them through email, SMS or on any of the following social sites: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, SmugMug, Flickr, Picasa, Photobucket and Instagram.

New Camera Awesome App for iPad Creates Window to a New World
Completely Re-Imagines the Already Awesome Experience on New Device

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 3, 2012 - Today, Camera Awesome launches as the only free iPad app that combines professional-grade camera capture and editing functions – along with simple sharing to the top social sites.

Now available in the App Store, Camera Awesome for iPad supports the newly-released iOS 6 and takes full advantage of the device’s high-resolution display and features by offering a bigger and clearer user interface with large previews, better framing and bigger, easier editing.  Did we mention it’s bigger?

“Joking aside, this isn’t simply a bigger version of what we’ve built for the iPhone. We built and rebuilt the UI over and over until we came up with something that makes the iPad feel like an amazing new piece of photography equipment, rather than just a giant camera,” said Don McAskill, CEO and Chief Geek of SmugMug. “Our testers have been comparing it to something from Minority Report and loving it.”

More than 7 million Camera Awesome users already love how the iPhone app takes photos to the next level by shooting faster and taking sharper, better-exposed shots. With nearly 300 different effects, presets, filters and frames to choose from, users can make memories come alive, then share them through email, SMS or on any of the following social sites: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, SmugMug, Flickr, Picasa, Photobucket and Instagram.

iPad users now have access to Camera Awesome’s incredible features, including any extra filters they purchased through the iPhone app – making it a seamless experience between devices. The iPad app makes it possible to take pictures the size of a printed photo – giving users a better, bigger idea of what the image will look like as a screensaver for their computer or framed as a piece of art for their home.

Camera Awesome is free and available on the App Store.  Learn more at http://www.awesomize.com/.
