Sigma Announces Programmable Lenses

Newly developed “USB DOCK” exclusively for new product lines.

Along with the new lenses announced this week at Photokina is a whole new way to customize your lenses. Sigma has created a new piece of software ( SIGMA Optimization Pro) that can update the lens firmware and adjust parameters such as focus. The focus limiter is also customizable for Sports lenses. Using a special USB Dock, the user will be able to connect the l ens to their PC, and, using easy-to-operate on-screen controls, fine-tune focus and adjust other parameters to suit their personal preferences.

17-70mm F2.8-4 DC MACRO OS HSM

Mainly used for general-purpose photography, this everyday lens covers a range equal to 25.5-105mm on a 35mm camera. A large-aperture lens that opens up to F2.8, it ‘ s surprisingly compact in size.
