Wireless Flash Triggers For Only $15?

Far and away our hottest selling item is our wireless flash triggers. These units allow you to get into off-camera flash for a fraction of the cost of the big name products. If you only have one speedlite you can start using off-camera flash immediately and then add to your lighting kit as you need with either another name brand flash or our YN560 flash.

“But Kerry…those triggers are listed on your shopping site at $64.95, so what do you mean $15?”

If you read the description of the triggers, you also get a $50 gift certificate for new members at Nations Photo Lab. If you factor in the $50 in prints, that brings the price of the triggers down to only $14.95!

Are they any good?

Of course I am going to tell you they are great! I use them on a daily basis for everything from products to weddings. Chris Diset has been using them on every shoot for months along with numerous other professionals.

But, if you want a really unbiased opinion of them, turn to one of the biggest names in the industry, David Ziser. In a recent Technique Tuesday, David talked about affordable off-camera lighting and not only mentioned our flash triggers, but did a complete video on how to use them. I never asked him to do a video on them, in fact, I was completely shocked that he took the time to not only try them out, but to use them at a recent wedding event.

Check out the video David did:

Good luck with HostGator – may the force of uptime be with you! :)

If you are happy with your CostCo prints then I cannot argue with you.For some people, this is a huge value, for others it isn't. There are certainly people who will never use the print coupon but many others will. If you need prints, and you prefer the quality of a real lab like Nations Photo Lab, then this offer is an excellent deal.

Even without the gift certificate the wireless triggers are a great deal by providing reliable off-camera flash at an affordable price.I apologize if you took it as scammy.

Even without the $50 giftcard these triggers are an excellent value in my opinion for photographers just getting started in off camera flash triggering. I ordered the 1 TX and 3x RX set and have been very happy with them. I actually own 2 PW plus II tranceivers $150 each and just got a set of Radiopopper JRx studio TX and RX kit $159 for comparison. While both the PW and Radiopoppers offer better range but for ease of use these triggers are still better.

    1) No sych cords are needed just attach to the foot of the flash and your ready to shoot. This big one since PC connections can be troublesome and the cords are easy lose.

    2) I like the fact the system is quite compact and rx's have a ISO foot, 1/4 20 thread and a umbrella mount. Neither PW or RP offer this sort of convenience in compact package.

As mentioned the only weakness in the system is the range, which I get about 100ft max outdoors which is more than good enough for probably 90% of my shooting needs.

These triggers failed for me in two key scenarios:__1. When the batteries were dead (I was operating off a set of rechargeables that had discharged after extensive use.__2. When I took the trigger for another brand and tried to get it to fire the receiver (much like trying to put a Nikon lens on a Canon mount)…__Other than that, flawless – I've even had better success with these than with a set of Radio Poppers that I have been testing!

The one thing I wish they had was an automatic shutoff even if it was something lone like 30 minutes. I have burned through a few sets of receiver batteries by not making sure I have turned the receiver off before throwing them into the camera bag.

The coupon seems to be for "New Customers." Does that mean if I've bought something from Nation's before, I can't use it?

    • kgarrison says:

I believe that may be the case. We used the wording we were giving, so you might want to check with them on that, or sign up with a different email address.

    Mr. Garrison,

I just have one concern before I make my purchase. I use a Nikon SB-600 and a SB-900. I am going to assume that these wireless triggers are compatible with a SB-900 (not in ttl) The reason I ask is I have had problems with triggers in the past on the SB-900, but never once on the SB-600.

    Thanks,
    Anthony

  • kgarrison says:

I had someone test them on an SB800 and SB900 and they worked properly.
