Great post! Lots of good information. As a still shooter who's been doing video for about 2 years now (Canon XHA1 kit with lots of add-ons) the one thing I think you'll find it that you need that Beach Tek setup as well as the Rode mic. You're going to want to hook into mult boxes, use wireless mics, etc as well as the straight shotgun. We're using Sennheiser Evolution wireless mics(http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/618735-REG/Sennheiser_EW_100_ENG_G3_A_Evolution_G3_100_Series.html) and have had good results.
Andrew
TheDiscerningPhotographer

Maurice, that was brilliant. Thanks for your effort. Its really exciting to realise at the end of your article that this Indi system is so much cheaper than all the others out there at the moment. It makes the difference between having a rails system and none at all, for us little people in the world. Cheers,

Thanks for the feedback. I intend on taking this article a lot further with some more in-depth product add-on reviews in the near future.

Great article, very in-depth and informative, thanks! There's a whole new culture and industry evolving around this. I am a Nikon shooter, and just picked up the Canon 7D strictly for video.
