  • Just wanted to let you guys know that I have been listening for a few weeks now and I love the podcasts!! Thanks so much for all you do! I have been downloading a bunch of old ones on itunes. There is some much great stuff on there. Thx!!

  • Doug says:

Great show about productivity with Dane Sanders. You mentioned a Microsoft Outlook add-on that does a similar job as Omni but I cannot find it.

  • kgarrison says:

ClearContext is for Outlook, go to http://www.michaellinenberger.com/clearcontext…. and download the trial. You can then uninstall it and all of the settings for the tasks will remain.

    Hey Guys,
Another great show. I have a wife, 5 kids, a 8-5 manager job, and our wedding photography business; I need to keep control of my time. Thanks for all the great tips. Another thing that works well for me is a simple 1/2 sheet Excel spreadsheet with 3 columns. They're titled “Have to do, Want to do, Other”. Everyday I review the sheet at the end of the day and make out a new sheet for tomorrow.
I have listened to everyone of your 56 podcasts and have enjoyed all of them. I'd love to hear more podcasts on wedding day formal & group poses. Keep up the good work.
If I could, I'd like to give you one criticism. Today I'm sitting at my desk listening to show 56 while I'm editing our last wedding and my little girl is next to me watching and out of my speakers comes “s***”. That's the first I've heard that in all the shows. Could you edit those out? I'd much rather hear “totally” 1000x's.

  • kgarrison says:

Trust me, that was completely unintentional that it was left in. The moment that someone mentioned it to me I fixed it an reuploaded the file. We want the show to be as family-friendly as possible and I apologize profusely for letting that slip. After hearing all of our shows you know that this is certainly not normal for us.

  • Walter says:

    Hi Kerry,
Thanks for fixing that. I'll download the edited version tomorrow.
Thanks again keep up the good work. Yours is probably my favorite photography podcast.

  • Joncee May says:

Did you seriously answer the phone during a podcast on productivity and focusing on the task at hand before starting a new task, i.e. checking your emails, while creating an album??? HAHAHA, you should probably edit out the phone conversation! :)

  • Hi Guys –

Thanks for the show. I've got the kid, full time job, and budding photo career so I definitely could use some help.

My question – do you know any applications that are cross platform. I use Outlook/PC at work and a Mac at home.

    Thanks,

    Joey

  • As a follow up, I found out my company is going to gmail. I found this firefox plugin that GTD-izes gmail: http://www.gtdgmail.com/. Basically you use gmails labels for different contexts and statuses. I don't think it is for the super GTDers but it's a good start and I can use it from any computer with firefox. And its free.

Took me a couple trys to get the hang of it but once I got going it only took me a few hours to rid my inbox of 9k emails. And I did it while listening to Dane's book. Good times.

  • Another awesome podcast, but Walter, there were more than 1 “bad” word during that phone conversation… LOL… while not something I like in the podcast because I listen in the car and sometimes with the kids, but it was pretty funny to hear another side of Kerry. Thanks for the great podcasts, keep up the great work, but maybe with some edits… Glad you fixed the feed though.

  • T.L. Essary says:

Great podcast guys. Dane is one heck of a speaker and there at the end of the podcast, I was wondering where the used car was he just sold. I especally liked the quote “Don't just do something, Stand there.” I ended up using it at work and it really makes people stop and think. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next podcast.

  • archaney says:

Thanks. You guys have a great podcast. Like Walter I sometimes am listening with the kids around (usually in the car) and appeciate keeping the language family friendly. Keep up the good work.

I found this podcast to be immensely helpful. When I got to my office my email inbox had over 6,800 messages. I took Dane's suggestions to heart and by the end of that same evening I created an “@Action” folder and a “@Waiting For” folder and had zero messages in my inbox. Thanks for sharing a great topic and for a truly informative podcast!
