Kerry talks to Mike Wong from OnOne Software about their newest releases of their popular plugins for Photoshop (and now for Lightroom).
Mike talks about the possible future for plugins and for OnOne Software and hints at possible tools for the Apple iPhone and for dealing with video from new cameras such as the Nikon D90 and the Canon EOS 5D Mark II.
On what is normally a 4 – 4.5 hour drive, Kerry and David endure 6 hours of drive time, very cold weather, the beginnings of a snow storm, and then an hour long wait at the front desk (at midnight) to get their room. Just after getting through the last pass into Vegas, the snowstorm forced the pass to close, but Team Dojo is now safe and sound and ready to share their experience with Dojo readers.
David (http://esquirephotography.com) and I are heading to Las Vegas to attend the big WPPI trade show and convention. This is a HUGE trade show and is full of seminars, workshops, meetups, and tons of things to do and see. We will be doing daily coverage from the show and keep everyone informed of all the cool things that are going on and new products that are getting announced there. You can bet we will be doing our best to get lots of cool things to give away to Camera Dojo readers so stay tuned all next week for updates! If you are heading out there yourself, follow us on twitter (http://twitter.com/kerrygarrison) to see where we are at, come by and say Hi!
Even though all of the shortcut keys are available via the help system, its still a bit hard to really find all of them, what if you could have one PDF document that had them all listed and organized? Well, your wishes have been granted!
Kerry and David talk to Jason Kiefer, the CEO of Pictage, to discuss how photographers can get more revenue by selling prints and how to maximize those print sales by understanding who it is that is buying the prints.
When David Ziser told me about his upcoming seminar during our recent podcast conversation I knew this was one seminar this year that I couldn’t pass up going to. I have been counting the days waiting for the announcement so I could get it on my calendar. From the description, I think everyone should attend this as well, David has put together an amazing program and the price is just unreal as well.
If you have ever re-sized an image you know that you always lose a lot of image quality whenever you do that, especially when having to blow things up really large. The solution may just be with OnOne Software’s Genuine Fractals 6. This tool is designed purely to handle your image resizing needs. For myself, I often have to scale things like screenshots for use in the books that I have been writing so that the images look good in the books.
We know you love The Dojo and here is your chance to show it. Camera Dojo is up for a fresh blog award. The downside is its a little weird to vote for. First off you have to go to the right page (linked here) and then click on the thumbnail for Camera Dojo as shown in the next image. From there you are only a click away from casting your vote. We really appreciate your support and maybe even win an award. Thanks for voting!
Along with our regular podcast, we are thinking about trying out our hand with some videocasts. In this show, Kerry and David discuss paying attention to details. This covers your material, to your work, to working with other vendors, and more.
Kerry and David talk with Vui Bui on the effective use of video in marketing and promoting your photography business and where video fits (or doesnt fit) into the photographer’s business.
